Nelson City Council is offering to buy properties at risk of landslips since a large storm last year

Nelson City Council is offering to buy properties at risk of landslips since a large storm last year

It's in discussions with owners in the hillside suburb of Brook - affected by slips from public land.

Initially, Council planned a 17 million dollar package to fix three landslips affecting private properties but the slip risk has worsened after more storms.

Acting Nelson Mayor, Rohan O'Neill-Stevens, says no property is in immediate risk - but there's no other reasonable safe option.
