The Wellington Phoenix Women face an extra opponent in Newcastle today - the searing Australian heat

Their A-League clash with the Jets was originally due to be held in Maitland, but forecast temperatures of 38 degrees has seen the game moved to Newcastle -- where it's only 34 degrees!

Coach Paul Temple says it's something they'll have to manage, as it will affect how they set up and defend at certain moments.

The match has just kicked off .
