National is keen to a hold a short, sharp ministerial inquiry into how the election was run

National is keen to a hold a short, sharp ministerial inquiry into how the election was run

The Electoral Commission has revealed 15 voting places had data entry errors, and a box of votes from the East Coast was entirely forgotten.

It's also confirmed it's looking into concerns about a voting place at Manurewa Marae, headed by Te Pati Maori candidate Takutai Tarsh Kemp.

National Campaign Chair Chris Bishop says it follows a raft of other issues, like computer systems going down and rural voting places not being open on election day, and Easy Vote cards arriving late.

He says New Zealand needs to have confidence in the electoral system, and this election has been really messy and not a good look for New Zealand.
