An effort to strengthen the vaccinator taskforce

An effort to strengthen the vaccinator taskforce

Pharmacists will now be able to train to become authorised vaccinators in children aged six weeks and above.

The decision comes as part of a series of actions to reach 95 percent immunisation coverage.

National Public Health Service director Dr Nick Chamberlain says they're hoping to address regions where accessibility is to vaccinators are a barrier.

He says they're still working with communities to build trust - which is important because we're currently at high risk of a measles or pertussis outbreak.
