After a shock announcement in March, the Ministry for Disabled People has clarified its changes to spending rules

After a shock announcement in March, the Ministry for Disabled People has clarified its changes to spending rules

It says they're based on community and provider feedback.

It's specified it will still fund reasonable and cost effective rideshare services - and household support arrangements, as an alternative to residential care.

Support arrangements for work, study or therapy programmes made before March 18, will also still be funded.

It also allows one-off purchases of self management items, like electronic tablets, noise-cancelling headphones, sensory toys and weighted blankets.
