Two people are in custody - after fleeing police from Auckland's Northcote

The man and woman failed to stop when hailed on State Highway one.

Police didn't chase them - but they were monitored as they crashed into a vehicle just before the Johnstones Hill Tunnels, near Waiwera.

They were later spiked inside the tunnel.
