Concerns the Government's putting business ahead of children and teachers

Concerns the Government's putting business ahead of children and teachers

Early childhood teachers are asking local MPs and communities for protection against more deregulation.

Public union meetings will run over three weeks from today, to address concerns over the Government scrapping red tape on setting up new services.

NZEI's Virginia Oakly says it'll allow centres to open up - where they're not needed.

She claims some private providers will drive others out of business by undercutting fees for a short time, and they also make more profit from paying teachers less.
