    Big electricity users are confident they're doing their part to reduce power

    The Major Electricity Users' Group represents customers including Tiwai Point Aluminium Smelter, Fonterra, the Glenbrook Steel Mill, Macraes Gold Mine in Otago, and Amazon Web Services' data centre.

    Executive director Karen Boyes is warning spot power price customers will be hit hard.

    She says it could cause potentially very high prices, and some of their members might choose to adjust production if they can.
