It's been revealed the victim of Sunday night's Ponsonby shooting starred in a reality TV show before his death

Robert Sidney Horne appeared on the show The Dog House last year, which matches people with new dogs.

Horne and his flatmate adopted a young staffy cross rescue dog from Northland.

Horne was shot dead by Killer Beez member Hone Kay-Selwyn on Sunday night in Auckland's Ponsonby.

Kay-Selwyn fled the scene and was the subject of an extensive manhunt until he was found dead at a property near Taupo.

Police have confirmed his death is not being treated as suspicious.

Police are keeping an eye on gang members accompanying his body through the Auckland region.
