Showers for Gisborne. Cloud increasing in the southwest with isolated showers. Mainly fine elsewhere. South Island: Rain or showers spreading north, possibly heavy. Snow possible to 1000 metres in the south. Cloud increasing for Christchurch, northern Canterbury, Nelson and Marlborough. Wednesday North Island: Showers becoming widespread, but only isolated showers for Bay of Plenty, Rotorua and Gisborne. South Island: Rain or showers, easing. Snow possible to 1000 metres in the east. Chatham Islands Partly cloudy with light winds for Monday. Cloud increasing on Tuesday with the chance of a shower, and northeasterlies developing.
