The Civil Defence Minister says so far there are no reports of damage from this afternoon's quake

GeoNet says the 6.2 quake was situated 25 kilometres south west of Taumaranui and was at a depth of 207 kilometres.
It was widely felt in the lower North Island and as far away as Ashburton.
Kris Faafoi says he's spoken to the Manawatu-Wanganui Civil Defence group and they say there's been no reports of damage at this stage.
He is reminding people to be vigilant.
