    Kaitaia Police are seeking help from the public after a firearms incident


    At half past one this morning, Police received a report of an apparent shooting on Inland Road at Lake Ohia.

    The two victims were parked in a vehicle on the side of the road at the intersection of Inland Road, when the occupant of a dark-coloured vehicle presented firearms and fired several shots at the two men.

    One man was hit in his left leg and the other on his right foot.

    The victims' injuries are not considered life threatening.
