Alcohol, illicit drugs and prescription medication has proven to be a fatal combination in a Canterbury crash

Alcohol, illicit drugs and prescription medication has proven to be a fatal combination in a Canterbury crash

Carla Simone Murray died after failing to stop and give way to a heavy goods vehicle at the junction of Withells Road and State Highway 1 at Ealing, in the early hours of February 18, 2023.

Her two passengers were seriously injured.

The 37-year-old's blood contained more than three times the legal limit of alcohol - as well as methamphetamine, cannabis and sleeping pills.

The Associate Coroner found Murray failed to stop due to her high level of intoxication and drug use.
