Cordons around the scene on Hamilton's Alexandra Street, where a young man died last night, have been lifted

Police attended an altercation between two groups at around midnight, reportedly involving a group of youths wielding knives and machetes.

A 20-year-old man died after he was taken to hospital.

His death's being treated as a homicide and a man-hunt is underway to find those involved - including the offender.

Another three victims have moderate to serious injuries.
