    farmers unsurprised about new Mycoplasma bovis infection

    Tararua farmers aren't surprised about a new Mycoplasma bovis infection.


    The property in Pahiatua near Palmerston North is the second farm in the North Island to be infected with the disease.

    The region's Federated Farmers President Neil Filer says they've been waiting for this news, as the farm has been under a testing regime for several weeks now.

    He says no stock has been shifted off that farm, so he's not concerned for local farmers.

    Alongside the Pahiatua property, two farms in the South Island have tested positive for bovis, taking the total affected to 35.
