Some Auckland local board chairs are set to get pay rises of up to 19 percent

All councillors and local board members will get a two percent rise between July and November.
The chairs of two South Auckland boards will be given the biggest pay increases.
Brent Catchpole, who chairs the Papakura Local Board, will get a 19 percent pay rise in two steps to nearly 92-thousand dollars.
Lemauga Lydia Sosene , chair of the Mangere-Otahuhu Local Board will get a two-step rise of 16 percent to 99-thousand dollars, making her the highest paid chair.
She says she works up to 60 hours a week, including Saturdays, attending events, running meetings and answering emails.
