John Tamihere is promising to scrap Auckland's regional fuel tax if he's elected the city's mayor

Tamihere says his ambitious new two-storey harbour bridge can be paid for through existing transport budgets, without the need for a fuel tax.

Tamihere says he will also prioritise other traffic choke points, and seek private investment for new park and ride facilities.
