Two kiwi pros will be on the start line for Sunday's Ironman World Champs in Kona-Hawaii, in what many are describing as the strongest field in years

Former Ironman New Zealand champion Braden Currie lines up alongside current New Zealand champion Mike Phillips.

The field features defending champion Patrick Lange and former Olympic and ironman world champion Jan Frodeno , along with double Olympic champion Alistair Brownlee who is making his Kona debut.

Currie finished fifth in last year's race, and says it's difficult to know what to expect from Brownlee over the longer distance in the Hawaiian heat.
