After 5,655 measles cases and 81 deaths from the disease, a special cabinet meeting in Samoa has today ended the state of emergency declared because of the epidemic

At the meeting today, Cabinet unanimously approved the cancellation of the State of Emergency Orders in place.
Cabinet also approved the State of Recovery for Samoa to commence immediately.
There are 46 measles cases in hospital - nine of them critically ill children.
