Some positive news for some Australians affected by the bushfires

Evacuated residents in parts of New South Wales have been able to return to their homes.

At least sixty homes were destroyed in blazes on Saturday, bringing the number lost since New Year's Eve to 576.

2EC breakfast radio host Kim Saker says officials and emergency workers have gone above and beyond to save as many other homes as possible.

She says they're like energiser bunnies - because they don't stop working.
