Following the inaugural ATP Cup in Australia, there has been discussion of a similar women's tournament.
Like the men's competition, the inclusion of a WTA contest could affect the calibre of players Budge is able to draw to Auckland.
There has also been talk of the Australian Open being pushed to March.
The ASB Classic women's singles and doubles finals are today.
