The former rugby union international was sacked by Rugby Australia 10 months ago for posting homophobic comments on social media.
He's now in line to make his first rugby league appearance in a decade, having switched codes to revive his career.
He's told French newspaper L'Independant he thought about ending his career and pursuing other things in life.
Folau could make his Super League debut tomorrow after being named in Catalans Dragons' 21-man squad to face Castleford in Perpignan.
