New Zealand Rugby are expected to unveil a new strategy today to address financial difficulties

New Zealand Rugby are expected to unveil a new strategy today to address financial difficulties

The New Zealand Herald understands NZR will post a multi-million dollar loss in 2019, and are forecasting another for 2020.

Rieko Ioane will make his first midfield appearance of the Super Rugby season when the Blues face the Stormers in Cape Town this weekend.

He's been named at centre after recovering from a fractured hand and will partner TJ Faiane at second-five - Joe Marchant's on the right wing and Harry Plummer's on the bench.

Hooker James Parsons has been ruled out with a shoulder injury, with Kurt Eklund starting.

New Zealand's lost to India by three runs at the Twenty20 World Cup, meaning they have to win their final two matches against Bangladesh on Saturday and Australia on Monday to make the semi-finals.

The White Ferns haven't beaten the hosts in their last four T20s and have never played Bangladesh in the format.

Indian Premier League franchise the Sunrisers Hyderabad have returned Australian batsman David Warner to the captaincy, in place of Kane Williamson.

Williamson's two-year tenure included a runner-up finish in 2018, while Warner served his penance for involvement in the South African ball-tampering scandal.

New Zealand's women's team pursuit have missed out on a medal at the track cycling world championships in Berlin.

They've lost to the United States who will ride for gold.

Wairarapa's Harry Bateman is the best of the 26 Kiwi golfers after the first round of the New Zealand Open at Arrowtown.

Bateman carded a four-under par 67 at the Millbrook course to be three shots behind the leader, 17-year-old Korean Joohyung Kim.

A man has been arrested after Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola's emails were allegedly hacked.

The Sun newspaper claims to have spoken to an IT contractor who says the emails contained players' contact details and information on transfer talks.

The suspect attempted to sell the contents for $200,000.
