Dunedin doctor Venod Skantha is currently being sentenced at the High Court in Dunedin for the murder of 16-year-old Amber-Rose Rush in 2018.
The victim's older brother, Jayden Rush, has read a victim impact statement - written by his mother - Lisa-Ann Mills, who died in a suspected suicide four months after daughter's killing.
Lisa-Ann wrote she was struggling with the early court proceedings against Skantha - and had constant nightmares
.She says all she was left with was a little box of ashes... but she kept turning up to court for Amber.
