The figures from the city's three DHBs, released under the Official Information Act, show more than one-thousand-750 stabbing injuries from the start of 2016 to September 2019.
The city's police are concerned by the figures - with more than 13-hundred of them coming from the Auckland DHB.
Tamaki Makaurau police deployment manager Inspector Dave Glossop told the Herald it shows how readily available knives are.
He says police will examine why Auckland DHB figures are so high.
The treatment cost to taxpayers was more than 10-million-dollars.
