Poisoning is thought to be the probable cause of mass seagull deaths in Horowhenua

Bodies of birds were scattered across Waikawa and Kuku beaches ... they went through a stage of paralysis before dying.
Otaki Shelter manager Claire Thornton says the general consensus without any autopsy information is that it's due to some sort of poison.
She says even the seagulls they managed to rescue are now dead.
