According to the latest ASB Housing Confidence Survey, nine percent of respondents now say it's a good time to buy a house, down from 13 percent last quarter.
The drop was most noticeable in Auckland, and the South Island - apart from Canterbury.
ASB Chief Economist Nick Tuffley says COVID-19 could impact property viewings.
He says people might not want to head out into crowded places and look at houses, especially in winter.
