People with coronavirus in New Zealand are being sought for a drug trial at Auckland City Hospital
21 March 2020
The hospital is one of a number of hospitals in New Zealand and Australia wanting to take part in a clinical trial to see whether certain drugs are effective in treating the virus.
Patients will be put into two clinical studies to determine whether an anti-malaria medicine or an anti-HIV medicine can help people with Covid-19 recover.
Associate Professor of Clinical Molecular Medicine & Pathology, Mark Thomas, says they want to test people who are in intensive care, and those who aren't suffering as badly.
