The guilty pleas in the Christchurch mosque attacks, will have no bearing on the work of the Royal Commission of Inquiry

The 29-year-old Australian has pleaded guilty to 51 charges of murder, 40 of attempted murder and one charge of engaging in a terrorist act.
The Royal Commission says the pleas are hugely significant for families and survivors.
But it says because it can't inquire into the guilt or innocence of anyone charged with the attack, the pleas have no impact on the inquiry.
However, the Royal Commission says current Covid-19 restrictions are having a significant impact on the inquiry, with staff not able to continue with every aspect from home.
