Health officials will not be drawn on whether a man's sudden death at a Wellington motel is Covid-related

Health officials will not be drawn on whether a man's sudden death at a Wellington motel is Covid-related

Police were called to the sudden death of a man in his 40s in Newtown last night.

Stuff reports the man had a high fever and was suffering from recent coughing and breathing issues.

A Ministry of Health spokesman has declined to tell our newsroom whether it was being treated as a potential coronavirus case.

He says all Covid-19 updates will be given at today's 1 o'clock press conference.

Police say the cause of death has not been established, but it's not being treated as suspicious.
