Waitemata District Health Board is investigating into how three nurses at Waitakere Hospital were infected with the coronavirus, causing more than 50 staff to be temporarily stood down.
Previous protocols meant nurses treating Covid-19 patients could also work on different wards on subsequent shifts.
The Waitemata DHB says staff are now working in bubbles to ensure those who work with Covid-19 patients, don't work in other wards on following days.
