A select committee is hearing submissions on legislation to grant bereavement leave for miscarriages and stillbirths.
Rachael Schmidt-McCleave - from the Wellington Women Lawyers' Association - is among those calling for it to also cover terminations.
She says all pregnancies that end before a live birth should be eligible for bereavement leave.
The Association also wants paid sick leave after bereavement leave - if the woman is too sick to work.
