Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin (CYAR-vin) has now been charged with manslaughter and murder over the death of the unarmed and handcuffed 46 year old - who begged for his life as the police officer kneeled on his neck.
A medical examiner's preliminary finding says there is no evidence Floyd died of strangulation or asphyxiation.
A curfew has been imposed in Minneapolis.
