The Supreme Court's reserved its decision on whether the appeal to posthumously clear Peter Ellis's name can still be heard

Ellis was found guilty in 1993 of abusing children at the Christchurch Civic Creche.
He always maintained his innocence - but died last September, before his appeal reached the Supreme Court.
Solicitor General Una Jagose has told the Court Ellis's interests died along with him - and there's no exceptional reason to continue his appeal.
She says the now-adult victims are still suffering the shame of constant challenges to their credibility.
Jagose says the justice system has examined these exact same challenges three times - and found them wanting.
