    Armed police have left the scene of a house in Henderson, west Auckland


    Police say they went to the address on Universal Drive to locate a person of interest at around 12.20 this afternoon.

    Cordons were put in place in the surrounding streets as a precautionary measure, but were lifted shortly after 2.

    A police spokesperson says they were unsuccessful in the search of the property, and are conducting ongoing inquiries.

    They would not specify what the person of interest was wanted for other than to say it was for past offences.
