16-year-old Daniel Cameron has been sentenced to life imprisonment for murder - with a minimum non-parole period of 11 years - at the High Court in Invercargill today.
Hunter MacIntosh's mother - Amy King - has read her victim impact statement to the court, clutching a framed picture of her son.
She says the trauma of finding him haunts her days and nights
King says she was 28 weeks pregnant at the time and the only thing that kept her breathing and eating was the baby.
