Reassurances the United States can't stop us from accessing medication

Reassurances the United States can't stop us from accessing medication

The US bought up the world's supply of Remdesivir -- after it showed some signs of helping Covid-19 patients.

It sparked fears New Zealand wouldn't be able to access the drug.

Director of Operations Lisa Williams says if PHARMAC funded it, they would make sure it was accessible.

She says there are agreements with suppliers which insure there's a good stock of medications in our country.
