State Highway 25A remains shut between Kopu and Hikuai due to a slip - while Highway 25 on the eastern side of the peninsula's been able to reopen.
But a massive cleanup's underway in the small town of Hikuai that's seen the worst of the flooding.
Sam Clarke says most of his farm was underwater - but is thankful they had time to take precautions before the worst of it.
He says all his stock is safe, and most people seemed to also have time to move their animals to higher ground.
Rain continues to fall in the town, but the heavy rain warning has been lifted.
