NZ Post is working towards taming the avalanche of domestic parcels

NZ Post is working towards taming the avalanche of domestic parcels

During lock-down, NZ Post was handling 200 domestic deliveries every minute, with hundreds of thousands of parcels back-logged.

The backlog's since been cleared, and they're now down to 140 parcels per minute.

Chief Marketing Officer Brian Dobson says the parcel flow's still much larger than usual.

He says New Zealanders are continuing to shop online more and more, which was accelerated during the pandemic, as you could only shop online.

International mail continues to experience delays.
