    A 30-year-old man's been charged following a firearms incident in central Auckland


    A gun was allegedly pointed at police officers during a traffic stop on Victoria Street West yesterday.

    Inspector Gary Davey says a pistol was involved and a taser was also found inside the vehicle.

    The man faces a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm, and using a firearm against a law enforcement officer.

    He's due to appear at the Auckland District Court today.

    Davey's thankful officers weren't injured and the matter was resolved without further incident.
