Peter Burling and Blair Tuke remain committed to defending their Olympic 49er title next year despite taking on another big commitment

The Team New Zealand sailors have announced they are heading up a New Zealand entry in Sail GP, the brainchild of Sir Russell Coutts.

The nine race catamaran series will kick off in San Francisco in April, three months before Burling and Tuke are scheduled to head to Tokyo.

New Zealand is expected to host a leg of Sail GP in early 2022 in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch.
