The Automobile Association says local demand has nothing to do with pump prices.
Principal advisor Mark Stockdale says prices are related to global demand and have been stable for several weeks.
Stockdale says the biggest influence in fuel prices is tax - with Kiwis paying one dollar 11 on every litre.
Aucklanders pay another 10 cents on top of this.
