No charges have been laid after a four month old baby died in a hot van

The baby died days before Christmas in 2016, and a newly released coroners report reveals the baby overheated.
She was sleeping in a bassinet in her mother's van in Otaua -- while renovations were being completed on the family home.
The family checked on her during the night but she was later found to be unresponsive.
Thermal testing of the van the next day found it was 42.9 degrees Celsius.
The Coroner deemed public information efforts necessary - and proposed sending a copy of the report to SafeKids Aotearoa which works to reduce unintentional injures to children.
