Concerns a hold on some tests for Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, and Trichomoniasis is putting New Zealanders at risk

STI swab and urine tests are being denied unless a person shows symptoms, because labs have their hands full with covid-19 testing.
Family Planning National Medical Advisor Dr Beth Messenger says people can still spread infection even if they're not displaying symptoms.
She says long term complications can come from untreated infections, and if they can't be picked up normally then there's an issue.
Tests requiring a blood sample are still being accepted.
