New Zealand Rugby will dip into World Rugby's sevens rescue package to bolster the Tokyo Olympics preparation

The sport's governing body has announced a 2.5 million US dollar pool for qualified sides to aid their training for next year with the World Series on indefinite hiatus.
That includes the Hamilton tournament next year.
NZR's head of professional rugby Chris Lendrum says they hope to have some non-internal events before the Olympics in 2021.
