Taranaki Sawmills Limited has been sentenced at the District Court in New Plymouth for failing to ensure the machinery was safe.
The worker lost three fingers and two thirds of his palm in 2018, after putting his arm in a finger-jointing machine to try to fix a jam.
WorkSafe found there was no effective guarding or emergency stops on the machine.
