A convicted killer is still on the run, after escaping from Corrections staff last night
12 September 2020
Katrina Epiha, who was jailed in 2019 for murder, escaped while being returned to Auckland Regional Women's Corrections Facility from Middlemore Hospital.
Police say she's dangerous and shouldn't be approached.
Corrections says Epiha is likely to be charged with escaping custody when she's eventually caught, which can result in a maximum sentence of five years in jail
An operational review into the incident is being carried out.
