Raymond Jury was found guilty in August of murdering Trevor Rikihana -- a Rotorua man and member of the Rogue chapter of the Mongrel Mob.
The 58-year-old was sentenced in the High Court at Rotorua today to life imprisonment with a minimum non-parole period of 17 years.
During his trial the Crown told the court Jury strangled, violently beat and dragged Rikihana around a lawn before dumping his body on a friend's driveway.
