Travel company Viva Expeditions have teamed up with Air New Zealand to offer sight seeing trips of the Aurora Australis - or Southern Lights - from March.
A Boeing 787 Dreamliner will depart Christchurch for the top of Antarctica and return ten hours later.
Viva Expeditions director Rachel Williams says tickets sales are already going well.
She says the top cabin is sold out and it's clear there's looking to be plenty of demand.
