20 October 2020
Brett Goulding's been sentenced to 100 hours' community work, ordered to pay reparations of three-hundred-and-65-dollars and disqualified from owning more pets for five years.
The North Shore man's cat was taken to a vet by a rescue organisation in November 2018.
It was given antibiotics and pain relief for severe gum disease, and Goulding was told to bring the cat in for dental care.
He failed to do that so the SPCA seized the cat two months later.
It was given steroids and pain relief but had to be put down.
